Breaking news: Sentence given to leader behind Mogadishu bombings

Muxudiin Abdisalan Mahmoud “Daqare”, was accused of being a member of the terrorist group and of obstructing people from joining the group and misleading Somali children since 2009.

His leader Hussein Fiidoow named the leader (Daqare) as the one who misled the lower Jufada region, and he facilitated the joining of the Khawarij by Ex Dhamme Sharif Mohamed Barqadle (Sharif Jeego) and Ex Dable Noqla Mohamed Cabdulle Nur Abkoow Biyamalow.

Sharif Cagaweyne, who was part of the plotters, was also the leader whom (Daqare) transferred to Jeego and Biyamalow who later carried out the Mogadishu Mall bombings in 2019, the Cagaweyne Bar near the Wehliye Hotel in 2019, and the attack on the Aden Cad Airport by a Khwaarij terrorist in 2022.

Leader Daqare, among the other people he recruited to join the Khwaarij, who were his Jufa after his arrest, was the former Deputy Commissioner for Community Affairs of Hodan district, Sharif Nur Ali Awliyo, who was found to be working with the Khwaarij, and a spy and plotter, Mohamed Ali Kaahiye, who is still working with the Khwaarij, and is part of a group hiding in the forest in Mudug region.

Abdi Hakin Ahmed Dini Awale (Wadne), a former deputy commander of the Somali National Army, was also accused of joining the Khawarij after the assassination of his maternal uncle and cousin, and is the leader of Daqare.

He was used to bring explosives-laden vehicles into the capital and bypass security checkpoints, even when they were loaded, as they bore military identification.
Security agencies, who were closely monitoring the movements of Daqare, arrested him. After a lengthy investigation, the Military Prosecutor’s Office requested the case to be opened, and it was approved on May 19 of this year.

The Armed Forces Court, which gave the parties sufficient time, finally sentenced Muxudiin Abdisalan Mahmoud Daqare to life imprisonment, while Abdi Hakin Ahmed Dini Awale (Wadne), was sentenced to four years in military prison.
